News Reporters from the Pacific visit China

12 news reporters from the Pacific , Tonga included are currently in China for a Pacific Media delegation visit.

The visit is to increase the understanding of mutual benefits and cooperation between China and the Pacific islands.

Radio Tonga’s reporter – ‘Anasiu Falekaono is currently in China says, they were warmly welcomed by the Deputy Director General for the Department of Oceanian Affairs from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Xu Xueyuan on Tuesday morning.

Xueyuan says, China has helped Pacific in various sectors to boost sustainable development  in areas of education, infrastructure, agriculture and the economy.

Meanwhile she says, Tonga’s Ministry of Police has requested assistance from China as there are many Chinese people residing in Tonga in terms of communication.

The visit  started on Monday with a trip to Beijing and Shenzhen and Guangzhou at the Guangdong province.

The Pacific Delegation includes news reporter from Tonga, Lini Folau, editors and senior news reporters from Papua New Guinea, Fiji , Samoa and the Federated States of Micronesia.

The visit will end this Friday.
