The ‘Ofa, Tui moe ‘Amanaki centre has received a container of goods from the ‘Akanesi Mataitonga Trust, a Tongan group in New Zealand.

The items donated includes wheelchair, washing machine, furniture, books, toys and others.

Resources to build a playground for the students were also donated.

The project coordinator, Frazer Mataitonga says they were inspired by their late mother, ‘Akanesi Mataitonga to help those in need especially the students living with disabilities.

A member from the Tonga Red Cross Society Aloma Johansson thanked the group and the Trust for the generous assistance.

Tiulipe Peleketi from the Centre says the donated items will be used by the students when they will start their first term in February.

About 50 students are currently at the ‘Ofa Tui mo e ‘Amanaki Centre.
