Final two Cabinet positions have been announced

The Hon. Prime Minister ‘Akilisi Pohiva has been appointed as the Minister for Foreign Affairs while Lord Ma’afu is the Minister of His Majesty’s Armed Forces.
The announcement was part of the agenda during this morning’s deliberation at the Legislative Assembly in Nuku’alofa.
The deliberation continue to the report from Lord Vaha’i and Tongatapu 5 MP Losaline Ma’asi after they delivered the reply to His Majesty’s address from the throne on behalf of the members of Parliament.
They said, His Majesty King Tupou VI emphasized the importance for members of Parliament to understand the law and Constitution and for them to cooperate and support each other.
The deliberations continue to the issues related to the Nine Standing Committees of the House.
The Hon Minister of Police and Fire Services Mateni Tapueluelu raised his concerned about the Anti-Corruption Committee.
He says it is importance for the committee to focus on their core duties instead of focusing on overseas trips.
Tapueluelu says this Committee is very important because it is in line with the Government’s Motto which is “Good Governance.”
The Acting Ombudsmen Linda Folaumoetu’i also took her oath at Parliament this morning because the commissioner is on leave.
The office of Ombudsmen operates under the Speaker of the House and the Legislative Assembly.
The House was adjourned until further notice.
