More than 100 people charged for breaking the laws last week

Police have arrested 21 people last week for public disorder in Tongatapu.


Police Spokesperson says, 84 people were charged for breaching the Traffic Act alone.


It includes, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and other crimes.


The Crime Report from Police states, most of the crimes were committed in the Nuku’alofa Area.


The Acting Chief Superintendent of the Nuku’alofa Police Station – Tevita Vailea urges the public to be more cautious while driving.


Comparing the crime report from the previous week to last week, only 33 people were arrested for traffic violation.


Police continues with its weekly operation to ensure public safety at all times.
