Higher classes to report to their respective heads today

Higher classes of some High Schools in Tongatapu were asked by their respective heads to report to school today to clean up the damage from Cyclone Gita that visited Tongatapu last Monday leaving a trail of devastation and debris.


The category 4 cyclone washed out buildings, cutting tree branches, uprooting some old trees and flooding low lying areas.


Queen Salote College’s students among other High School Students in Nuku’alofa were at their school this morning to clean up the debris.


Meanwhile, work has been carried out to collect the remnants of Tonga’s Parliament House which collapsed from the cyclone.


Teams from His Majesty’s Armed Forces,Tonga Police and other related stakeholders  began clearing out the roads since early Tuesday morning  to allow transportation to flow undisturbed.
