Air and Sea transportation back to normal

International air and sea transportation are back to normal after the category 4 Cyclone Gita hit Tonga on Monday.

Today various ferries took off to the outer islands including Vava’u Ha’apai and ‘Eua while Fua’amotu International Airport welcomes flights by Fiji Airways and Virgin Australia.

Viliami Ma’ake, CEO of Tonga Airports Ltd confirmed that both the domestic and international airports were closed since Saturday evening due to Tropical Cyclone Gita.

The domestic airport remain closed due to damage caused by the cyclone.

Meanwhile Cruise liner Arcardia has been cancelled after it was scheduled to arrive in Tonga tomorrow.
