Tonga Met Office has urged people to be more wary of weather information that is not officially released by the Tonga’s Met Office.
The Acting Director – Selu ‘Ilolahia says the most reliable weather information is distributed from their office.
She highlights that part of the people’s preparedness to any natural disaster is understanding the information they receive and knowing it is reliable.
This follows recent rumors of a cyclone that was circulating on various social media and news outlets but turned out to be false.
‘Ilolahia says it is good practice for the people to always be prepared but the wrong information can mislead many people and cause other problems.
