25 houses affected by TC Keni in ‘Eua

Twenty five houses in ‘Eua were affected when Cyclone Keni made landfall on the island.
Eight evacuation centers were used during the cyclone but at the moment only three are still open.
The government representative of ‘Eua, Sunia Havea says homes were flooded due to heavy rain.
Tonga Red Cross Society were able to deliver tents, shelter and hygiene kits to those were affected.
Havea says the patients who were transferred from the Niu’eiki hospital to the LDS church in Pangai will be transferred again to a new venue to facilitate for their needs and wants.
Sunia says part of Niu’eiki hospital is no longer fit to accommodate patients.
Havea thanked Police and Fire Department, district and town officers for their help after the cyclone.
