Police Leadership Training continues to Ha’apai

Police officers in Ha’apai are again being reminded of their core duties towards the public. It include, learning more about leadership roles, authority and the responsibilities of the Tonga Police.

Police Commissioner – Stephen Caldwell, Deputy Police Commissioner – Pelenatita Vaisuai and a representative from Australia is currently on the island to host the one week training.

Police Spokesperson – Telesia Adams says more than 10 officers are participating in the training which is held at the Tonga Red Cross Hall, in Pangai, Ha’apai.

This training is aiming to remind police officers about their duties and to stop them from practicing corruption activities.

Similar training was conducted on the island of ‘Eua last month.

The Ministry is addressing complains from the public regarding their dissatisfaction over some of the Police officers’ performance.
