A famous American LDS missionary who served in Tonga about six decades ago has emphasized the importance of prayer, love and sharing in Tonga at the moment.
Speaking to Radio Tonga News – John Groberg or otherwise known to many in Tonga as Kolipoki talks about the stage of preparation of the members of the LDS church who will be taking part in the sequel of the ‘Other Side of Heaven’.
“We were recently in Fiji – they’re filming a second film, The Other Side of Heaven 2 from when I was here as Mission President from 1966 to 1969 and we have a ‘cameo’ part – we’re disguised as something else. They tried to film it here in Tonga but they came here and there was just not enough equipment and enough electricity and enough lights. Plenty of good people and good scenery but insufficient resources required to make a film. But we did arrange for some singing and that’s one of the main reasons we came to Tonga is – they’re doing a big choir here in the Liahona gym,” he said.
Kolipoki is now 84 years old and served as a young missionary to Tonga in the 1950’s on the island of Niuatoputapu.
The filming of the sequel will take place in Fiji and it will be released in April next year.
