Police confiscated over 100 packs of drugs from two separate incidents on Monday

Police have confiscated more than 100 packs of cannabis and methamphetamine from two separate incidents on Monday.

In a press statement from Police, the Drug Taskforce arrested a 35 year old man with 14 packs of cannabis and a pack of methamphetamine ready to be sold in Nuku’alofa area.

Police carried out a search warrant at his residence in Malapo and seized 85 packs of cannabis, 4 packs of cannabis seeds, two cannabis pot plants and a bowl of cannabis leaves.

Meanwhile on a separate incident, police arrested a 27 year old man at the CBD area in Nuku’alofa with a pack of cannabis.

Both suspects are in police custody while investigation continues.

The Acting Chief Superintendent Tevita Vailea, in a press statement said, the arrest demonstrated their work on prosecuting those responsible for the illegal distribution of drugs.

Police encourage anyone who may have information about any drug offending to contact nearest Police station.
