Prisons’ Commissioner reviews passing out parade of 63rd combined basic recruits of HMAF and Prisons Department

The 63rd combined basic recruits of His Majesty’s Armed Forces and the Prison Department held their passing out parade ceremony at the Talia Camp in Fua’amotu, this morning.

This recruit intake began their training program on March 9th, with 80 recruiters, 15 female, and 65 male.

Prison guards from the Prisons Department were also part of this recruit intake.

After this 12 week long basic recruit intake training, only 74 successfully completed the program.

The best overall recruit was awarded to Private Semisi Toki from Tu’anuku Vava’u and Longolongo Tongatapu.

The Component Commander Training Command of HMAF – Major Tau ‘Aholelei says these recruiters will be going into different departments within HMAF including marines, the Royal Guard, as well as administration work, royal corps of Musicians, and Carpentry.

The reviewing officer at this morning’s passing out parade, was the Prisons’ Commissioner – Semisi Tapueluelu.
