Tonga’s prepared to withstand any natural disaster – during recovery efforts from TC Gita

Australian officials deployed to Tonga for assistance during the recovery period in the aftermath of TC Gita believe Tonga is prepared to withstand any natural disaster that will hit the country in the future.
Officials highlighted the issue during a visit by journalists from the Pacific, Tonga included to Australia last month
The purpose of the visit was to enhance the knowledge of journalists from the Region on Australia’s response and actions after a disaster strike.
During the program many expressed how impressed they were with Tonga’s plans during the recovering period.
NEMO’s operations were highly praised.
A line mechanic from Essential Energy in Australia – Ian Armstrong and Peta Miller – from Fire and Rescue New South Wales expressed their view on Tonga’s recovery operations.
The program started on the 27th of last month and completed on Tuesday thanks to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Participating the program were journalists from Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa, PNG and Tonga.
