The Free Wesleyan Church primary school of Vaotu’u last week marked its diamond jubilee – 75th anniversary.

The program began with a flag raising ceremony along with a parade from the school to the Vai ‘o e Mo’ui church which was led by Tupou College Toloa’s brass band.

The prayer service was led by the President of the Free Wesleyan Church – Rev Dr. ‘Ahio.

The guest of honor who’s the estate holder of Vaotu’u – Lord Tu’ivakano graced the day by unveiling the plaque to mark the special occasion and also the cake ceremony.

Lord Tu’ivakano says, 75 years is a long time and should be a day of praise and thanksgiving.

He went on to say that although there have been challenges faced throughout the past decade but the school still stands as a lighthouse to the students so they can one day become a light to those around them.

The program ended with traditional dances such as tau’olunga from the ex-students and current students of the school.
