The Hon. Prime Minister ‘Akilisi Pohiva told Parliament this morning that the government will provide their response within a month to the petition read out in Parliament last week.

The petition claimed that seven cabinet ministers misused their budget from 2015-2018.

Meanwhile, the Hon. Minister of Police told parliamentarians that he has received from a letter from the governor of Vava’u informing him that the level of insecurity on the island is very high.

Other issues raised during this morning’s deliberation include drugs, budget estimates among other issues.

Police station in Leimatu’a and Falevai in Vava’u were also discussed during the deliberation because they have suspended their operation for many years.

Meanwhile, the Police Minister responded and said that there was an issue with land ownership at the police station in Leimatu’a. He adds, plan is underway to rebuild the police station in Neiafu.

The house was adjourned to be continued later this evening.
