King and Queen landed safely in Ha’apai for the Royal Agricultural Show

Their Majesties – King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u have landed safely on the island of Ha’apai to officially open this year’s Royal Agricultural Show.
The Governor of Ha’apai – Rev. Dr. Mohenoa Puloka says the people are thrilled to welcome their Majesties.
The primary and secondary school students were forming a guard of honor all the way from the Salote Pilolevu Airport to the Tau’akipulu Palace.
The Government Ministries and the businesses have put up their banners on the main road with greeting messages to Their Majesties.
Upon arrival the church ministers in Ha’apai hosted a prayer service for their Majesties.
The locals then presented their customary traditional presentation for their Majesties led by talking chiefs Lutu-i-Palelei and Va’e ‘o Tu’i Tonga at the Tau’akipulu Palace.
With the spirit of excitement and joyous the people of Ha’apai are displaying their finest products especially the dry octopus and the dry salted fish.
This year, Ha’apai is taking the lead in the Royal Agricultural Show to be held a the Lea ‘a e Tohi Ground and to be followed by Free Wesleyan Church Annual Conference and His Majesty’s Royal Birthday.
Thousands of Ha’apai people from Tongatapu and abroad are already on the island to be part of the triple celebrations.
