Joshua ‘Isileki Sefesi awarded with the Queen Young Leaders Award

Her Majesty – Queen Elizabeth II presented Award to the young Tongan Joshua ‘Isikeli Sefesi with dedication to changing the world.
Her Majesty the Queen presented Sefesi with the Queen’s Young Leaders Award at a special ceremony at Buckingham Palace, London, in honour of the work he is doing to transform lives in his community.
The Queen was joined at the Award ceremony by Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in recognizing their success.
During an exclusive interview yesterday, Sefesi said it was an incredible opportunity and privilege to represent Tonga and receive the award from the Queen herself.
Speaking at the Awards ceremony, His Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex, who was recently named a Commonwealth Youth Ambassador said, it was heartening to meet so many inspiring young people who have already stepped up as leaders and improved the lives of so many people across the Commonwealth.
The Queen’s Young Leaders Award’s programme, now in its fourth and final year, celebrates the achievements of some of the most exciting young change-makers from across the Commonwealth.
This year’s cohort from 53 Commonwealth countries are finding solutions to global issues such as climate change, food scarcity, gender-based violence, mental health, and access to education.
