Real Tonga launches flight to Samoa

Real Tonga Airline has launched its first commercial flight to Apia, Samoa today.

The Deputy CEO of Real Tonga – Fakatele Faletau says, they are aiming at providing more regular flights to Samoa.

The routes to Apia will be from Tongatapu to Vava’u and then Apia, Samoa.

The Real Tonga’s first flight to Samoa was previously scheduled for February, the month Cyclone Gita made landfall in Tonga, and due to minor damage sustained to their aircraft, it was delayed till today.

Faletau adds they are hoping Real Tonga will be able to provide more international flights to Fiji, Niue, New Zealand and Australia.

Meanwhile, the Business Manager of the Bank of the South Pacific – BSP, Salesi Fineanganofo says, he is excited to be one of the first passengers on board the flight to Samoa.

About 25 passengers are in the Real Tonga’s first commercial flight to Samoa.

Real Tonga’s flights to Samoa are scheduled for every Monday and Friday.
