Sacred Kava ceremony for Princess Taone held this morning

The Royal Sacred Kava Ceremony or ” pongipongi tapu ” for late Princes Lavinia Mata ‘o Taone was held this morning at the Ongokie Residence in Vaini.

The kava ceremony is customary service after the burial.

It includes clans, relatives and families presenting their traditional presentation to show their highest respect for the deceased.

The locals of Vaini are currently observing 10 days of mourning for the Princess.

Late Princess Taone was laid to rest at the Huelo ‘o Hangai Tokelau Royal Tomb in Tokomololo.
