Cash prizes awarded to winners of the cultural singing and floorshow competition

The competitions for the Heilala Week festival 2018 are still underway in Nuku’alofa.
The cultural singing and floorshow competition was held last night at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall.
The cultural singing competition was in two categories including compulsory songs and optional songs.
The Huolanga club of Kolomotu’a claimed the first prize of $2000 each in the compulsory songs and optional songs.
Fa’onelua club of Lapaha came second in both categories with cash prizes of $1500 each.
The third prizes of $1000 each in both categories were presented to the Fonu mo e Moa club of Hofoa.
The 4th prizes of $500 each in both categories were given to the Kalapu Sikolasipi ‘o Masilamea.
In the floorshow competition – it was in three categories including mako, mixed performances, and group dance.
In the mako category, the first prize of $1000 pa’anga was presented to Fanga Tufu Hu Boys of Vaotu’u.
The Fola’osi Group of Kanokupolu came second with $750 pa’anga and Malimali Entertainment group walked away with the third prize of $500.
BJ Masani Group Show of Vaotu’u walked away with the $1000 prize for the mixed performances category.
The Fanga Tufu Hu Boys of Vaotu’u came second claiming the $750 pa’anga cash prized and third prize of $500 pa’anga was presented to the Fola’osi Group of Kanokupolu.
The Malimali Entertainment claimed the first prize of $1000 for the group dance category.
The Climate Worrier of Lapaha came second with $750 and third prize was given to the Fola’osi Group of Kanokupolu with $500 pa’anga.
The Minister of Tourism – Hon. Semisi Sika presented these prizes to the winning groups.
Meanwhile, the Pacific evening will be held tonight including the talent, island creation and sarong wear competition for the 15 contestants vying for the title of the Miss Heilala 2018.
