Health Centre in Nomuka has been operating for 3 months without a doctor

The people of Nomuka are in urgent need of a doctor or a medical officer to serve on the island.
A local – Noa Latu says, the community health centre on the island has been operating without a doctor for three months and the only nurse at the centre have been assisting patients on the islands.
Latu adds, their urgent need for a medical officer was raised this morning during their monthly village meeting – fono.
The islanders are in need of a medical officer at the Health centre especially various illness have emerged after the national events in Pangai.
Meanwhile, the Health Director – Dr. Siale ‘Akauola says they are completing the paper work for the designated medical officer to be sent to Nomuka immediately.
More than 300 people are residing on the island.
