A delegation from Tonga will depart to NZ today to join a week long conference for Church leaders from 200 countries around the world.

The delegation is led by Rev. Dr. Mele’ana Puloka, Rev. Penisimani Tonga and 11 members of the Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace Association.

Speaking to Radio Tonga News, Rev. Penisimani Tonga said, Church leaders who would be participated in the meeting would review peace and justice in the world and its impacts on the societies.

Church leaders would also look at challenges and culture impacts faced by these countries from the western culture.

Rev. Penisimani Tonga adds, the highlight of this year’s conference is the World Council of churches inviting the Tonga’s Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace Association to join the conference knowing they are the first combined youths from different churches in the world.

During the conference, members from the Association will share their work in Tonga to those who will participate in the conference.

Rev. Penisimani Tonga adds, WCC hope the Association’s presentation will encourage other countries to do the same.
