Chinese Embassy welcomed Tongan participants on two seminars in China

The Chinese Embassy in Nuku’alofa hosted an experience-exchanging reception for the 2018 China-Tonga Bilateral Seminar on Basic Education of Primary Schools in Tonga 2018 and Seminar on State-owned Enterprise Management for Tonga.
Two teams from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Enterprises were in China for the seminars.
The Hon Minister of Education – Penisimani Fifita praised China’s assistance in the Education sector through funding a seminar for its staff.
The seminar provided a training for education’s officers to build their capabilities and to improve their services for the public.
“Both teams have reported the same thing, they were greatly inspired and empowered by the great learning they’ve acquired from the lecturers ,field trips as well as the cultural experiences organized during this trip. Your Excellency, all of the programs targeted the schools and teachers as shown in the seminar titles, the seminar of basic education for primary schools in Tonga, the program is a whole educational package, the program covers and catered for all the various divisions of the Ministry,” Fifita said.
Chinese Ambassador – H.E Wang Baodong hopes that the participants will make use of the skills and knowledge learnt from the seminars.
“I am happy to know that the participants of the seminars in China attended a series of lectures delivered by both Chinese and international professionals, experts in exchanging ideas and with Chinese partners from different sectors and also did tours in three Chinese cities to experience the social life and present day in China,” he said.
This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tonga and China.
