Three accused who were charged in relation to the armed robbery at the gas stations in Fanga and Veitongo have been ordered to remain under the Police custody until September 24th.
Police reported earlier that four suspects were charged in relation to the armed robbery but only three appeared at the Magistrate Court in Fasi-moe-Afi this morning.
Police confirmed later today that one of the four suspects arrested last week has become the first witness for this case.
However the three accused were ‘Alamoni Makafilia, his brother Salesi Makafilia and a female suspect Paea-‘i-‘Utulongoa’a Tu’itupou.
Police Prosecutor requested in court for these suspects to be kept under police custody and to allow them to complete their investigation.
Meanwhile, one of the suspects requested in court if he could be released because he has nothing to do with the armed robbery, however, this was not accepted because Police Prosecutor believes that he was involved in the armed robbery.
Magistrate Salesi Mafi ordered for these suspects to be kept under police custody because it is safer for them.
