68 people arrested in Nuku’alofa during the MMT’s match

Police on Saturday evening during the Mate Ma’a Tonga- Kangaroos post-match celebrations, arrested 68 people in the Nuku’alofa area.
They were arrested and charged for different offences which included consuming alcohol in public places, driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as playing loud music.
Tevita Vailea the Acting police superintendent said, they also recorded road accidents on Saturday night after the match, and one included a passenger being hit by a vehicle while dancing on the road.
More than 200 police officers were on duty last Saturday night during the game.
