Taufa’ahau Tupou IV Domestic Wharf begins operations

The Taufa’ahau Tupou IV Domestic Wharf began operating this afternoon with the first vessels to berth at the wharf being the MV Maui and MV Tongiaki.

Speaking to Radio Tonga News this morning, the operations manager, Sione Talanoa expressed how grateful they were to government for finally entrusting the operations of the wharf to the Ports Authority.

Talanoa says the Wharf is very safe for use and has a much bigger space for all the vessels to operate in.

He hopes the public also the vessel owners will continue to maintain the cleanliness of the Wharf to keep the high standard and quality of the wharf.

The MV Maui and the MV Tongiaki docked at the Wharf this afternoon and will leave for the outer islands tomorrow morning.
