Prince Tungi leads Tonga College’s traditional presentation to HM in preparation of the school’s celebrations this weekend

Tonga College ex-students yesterday made their traditional presentation at the Royal Palace to His Majesty King Tupou VI.

The President of the Ex-Students Association – His Serene Highness Prince Tungi led the traditional presentation joined by ex-students, students, parents and teachers.

The Vice-President of the Ex-Student Association – Taimifolau says this was part of their preparations for this weekend’s celebration of Tonga College’s 136th Anniversary, where His Majesty King Tupou VI will officially open a new multi-purpose hall to mark the occasion.

Taimifolau says they are finalizing preparations this week, with the arrival of furniture and equipment for the new building on Wednesday, and the completion of the construction and the handover of the finished building from the construction company to the Ex-Students Association, on Thursday before the celebrations begin on Friday.

At the same time, Taimifolau declared the celebrations were not limited to only Tonga College, but was open for all to attend. He extended an invitation to the public, particularly the villages and churches who had joined in the fundraisers that helped fund the construction of this new multi-purpose hall.

Tonga Colleges 136th anniversary kicks off on Friday and will conclude on Monday next week.
