TBC main studio upgraded

The Minister of Public Enterprises – Dr. Saia Piukala marked the completion of the upgrade of Tonga Broadcasting Commission’s main studio on Friday afternoon.

The upgrade was made possible through close collaboration with the Pasifika Broadcasting Limited and the Tangata Pasifika TV Production of New Zealand.

Speaking at the program the Minister of Public Enterprises – Hon Dr Saia Piuakala praised the achievements TBC had accomplished since its establishment in 1961.

He said with the new equipment at the upgraded studio there’s hope it will improve the daily services of the Commission by providing factual and accurate information as many people rely on the information broadcast from the station.

Meanwhile the Acting General Manager of TBC – Solomone Finau says since he was appointed as the Chief Engineer of TBC he has been trying to improve its services especially in the world of technology as many broadcasters have updated their resources with the latest technology.

The estimated cost for upgrading the studio was more than 300thousand NZD or about 500thousand pa’anga.

Attended at this afternoon’s program included Cabinet Ministers, diplomatic corps, CEOs and invited guests.
