Kolomaile Masani week underway in ‘Eua

Many families and relatives of Kolomaile ‘Eua have returned home to the village from abroad, outer islands and Tongatapu to participate in celebrating Kolomaile Masani week.

The Kolomaile Masani started yesterday with the attendance of the Hon. Prime Minister ‘Akilisi Pohiva. Following the official program to mark the begining of the week – Hon. Pohiva led a village inspection – aimed at ensuring the village of Kolomaile is clean and beautiful.

Speaking to Radio tonga News, the chairman of the organizing committee – Fetuli ‘Aholahi says, the purpose of the program is to not only bring the people of the village together but to also arrange programs and ways to assist the youth in supporting their sporting talents.

The program also emphasized to the people of the village the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Day one of the program wrapped up last night with a choral night.

Vilisoni Tu’iniua of Radio Tonga News who’s currently in ‘Eua said, day 2 of the program started this morning with a visit to the Fele’ave cemetary to lay wreaths to honor the generations that have passed on.
