The Free Wesleyan Church of Vaololoa celebrated their new chapel this morning, which was rebuilt after the old building had been destroyed during Cyclone Gita earlier this year.
The President of the FWC – Rev Dr. ‘Ahio marked the opening of the new chapel, highlighting the importance of having a safe and secure structure for the congregation to worship in.
Rev Dr. ‘Ahio also unveiled a plaque to mark the golden jubilee of the establishment of the church in Vaololoa.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new chapel was led by the FWC Secretary General – Rev Tevita Havea earlier this year with the construction by Sione Kalamateu’s construction company beginning in June
The new chapel is 30 meters long and 16 meters wide and can hold more than 200 people.
The estimated cost for the construction was at seven-hundred-thousand pa’anga.
