Cooperative society shop for Pelehake launched

HSH prince Tu’ipelehake on Friday marked the completion of a work towards a co-operative society for the village of Pelehake and also received assistance.

The society and the assistance is the outcome of meetings between HSH Prince Tu’iepelehake and the Minister of Labour – Tu’i Uata.

In his address His Serene Highness thanked the Hon. Minister for the assistance in not only providing the goods to start off the society, but also the plough and a loan scheme with interest of not more than 4%.

Tu’i Uata said, the main purpose of the initiatives suggested by HSH is to arrange something that will benefit the locals like the co-operative society, when they buy stuff they will receive the interests of those goods.

‘Aho the deputy chairman of the co-operative society said, the locals are excited and they are looking forward to the implementation of these initiatives.

About 800 people are residing at Pelehake.
