Estate holders join government in the fight against drugs

The Estate Holder of Vaini and Tokomololo – Hon. Lord Ma’afu Tukui’aulahi, and Government Ministries have joined forces to fight against drug problems in Tonga.
Lord Ma’afu made a zero tolerance stance and vowed that he will not tolerate any one that’s residing in his estates, caught buying, consuming or selling drugs.
Meanwhile, psychiatry specialist, Dr. Mapa Puloka told “Tonga ‘I he ‘Aho ni Programme” of Television and Radio Tonga, that the drug methamphetamine or commonly known, as “Ice” is exceptionally dangerous.
The Minister of Police Hon. Mateni Tapueluelu in a statement also to “Tonga ‘I he ‘aho ni”, cited that the government is committed to patrolling our borders in order to reduce drug smuggling.
Tapueluelu added that a special National Task Force has been set up and running so they can be brought to justice.
