QSC collect more than TOP$100,000 at 93rd anniversary celebrations

The bad weather on Saturday didn’t stop the ex-students and students of Queen Salote College in celebrating their 93rd anniversary.
There were many programs to mark the day started off with a prayer service at the centenary church led by the President of the Church – Rev. Dr. ‘Ahio. It then continued to the ground breaking ceremony of twin buildings. The buildings are to commemorate the schools 95th and century in 2026.
The day ended with items and traditional dances from students and ex-students of the school. Items and contribution were also presented from Tupou College, Tupou high and local churches.
Speaking to Radio Tonga News the secretary of the ex-student association board – Rev. Sela Na’a Latu after Saturday’s celebration they raised about 100thousand pa’anga. 90 thousand from the groundbreaking and 30 thousand are contributions from local churches.
The last program for the day were items performed where 20thousand pa’anga was raised.
Attending as the guest of honor of Saturday’s programs was Her Majesty the Queen of Tonga – who’s also the president of the ex-students association – Queen Nanasipau’u.
