Not enough restrooms for Primary schools in the Nuku’alofa area
Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 01/05/2019
Health officials are concerned for the hygiene standard at two Primary Schools in the Nuku’alofa area lacking sufficient restrooms for the students on school premises.
Supervising Public Health Inspector Sela Fa’u says they are working together with the Ministry of Education to address the issue as the students are at high risk of contracting bacteria leading to illnesses such as diarrhea.
The main concern is that there are not enough restrooms to cater for the students of the school.
However, Radio Tonga visited two primary schools in the Nuku’alofa area this afternoon and were told by the principals that the schools are in a satisfactory condition with enough facilities to cater for the students.
One GPS will have four new restroom blocks built in June funded by the Government.
