The Government Representative of ‘Eua Sunia Havea has confirmed that the missing Chinese man has been found alive and well with minor injuries.

Havea says around seven yesterday evening they received a phone call from members of the community claiming they saw the Chinese man at their bush allotment.

Havea said, they arrived at the said bush allotment and found the Chinese man who had been missing since Sunday afternoon.

Health officials carried out a check-up on the man and identified injuries on his right arm and head.

Havea says according to a statement made by the Chinese volunteer, he was trying to get to the top of the island, and while trying to avoid the mud, he fell off the cliff and lost consciousness.

When he woke up on Sunday night he tried to find his way back but he got lost.

He survived on oranges and water from a stream, while trying to get out of the forest.

The Government representative said this is not the first time for such an incident to happen as others have gotten lost in the forest before but they are now looking at some new policies that can help minimize this.
