King Tupou VI commissions “Fe’ao mo e Ngalu” Customs building

HM King Tupou the VI this morning commissioned a new building for the Ministry of Revenue and Customs. Also gracing the event was Her Majesty – Queen Nanasipau’u. The building was named by His Majesty – “Fe’ao moe ngalu”
Speaking during the program the CEO of the Ministry – Kelemete Vahe said – the construction of the Fe’ao moe ngalu building worth 3million pa’anga – and was fully funded by the Government of Tonga.
Vahe said, they have been paying rent for about 33 years now and with the new building – they will not only save money – but it will also assist them in trying to deliver their role effectively to the public – in ensuring that the items import and export through Tonga’s border are safe and legal.
In his welcoming address, The Hon. Prime Minister urge the Minister, CEO and staff of the Ministry to make good use of the new building. Attending this morning’s program were nobles of the realm, ministers of the crown, members of the diplomatic corps amongst many guests.
