The Australian High Commissioner to Tonga – H.E Adrian Morrison visited the Tapuhia Landfill to see how Australia would make further assistance under its 14 million pa’anga Nuku’alofa Urban Development Sector project implemented in 2012.
The Nuku’alofa Urban Development Sector Project helps deliver high priority urban infrastructure for Tonga in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
This is the first time for H.E Adrian Morrison to visit the Tapuhia Landfill since he took up the post.
Speaking to Radio Tonga News WAL CEO Malakai Sika says the visit was an opportunity for the Australian High Commissioner to experience daily operation at the landfill and ways of managing the waste.
90% of the operation at Tapuhia is funded under Australia’s multimillion pa’anga project.
