Most attendees of ‘Eua public consultation oppose 6 proposed bills

The final public consultation on government’s six proposed bills, held at ‘Eua last weekend, showed majority of attendees in opposition of the bills. The government representative – Sunia Havea said the consultations at ‘Ohonua and Mata’aho both heard many of the attendees express their opinions on the bills, most of them negative, with only a few supporting the bills. This was the final consultations to wrap up a nationwide consultation led by the Legislation Committee last month. This consultation was initially scheduled for May 24th but was delayed due to issues with travel to the island.
