Acting PM urges the spirit of unity during the Miss Heilala competition 2019

Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 27/06/2019

The Acting Prime Minister highlighted the importance for the contestants vying for this year’s Miss Heilala title to have the spirit of unity during the competition.

This was his encouragement to the 20 contestants vying for the crown during yesterday’s orientation program at the Fa’onelua Convention Centre.

In his remarks, Semisi Sika hopes the contestants will continue with the same spirit not only throughout the competition but also after the competition as he believes they are all Tongans and should work together under the same purpose.

Meanwhile, the Reigning Miss Heilala – Kalo Funganitao left some words of advice for the contestants.

“My big thing is really to create this network of Tongan females. You’ve only got this time for about two weeks – so make the most of this. Be as authentic and as genuine as you possibly can be and have fun. Take time out to just absorb everything. “
