Noble proposes for PM to resign due to medical reasons

Heated debate continues in Parliament this morning as some nobles were querying about the Prime Minister’s health as he has been absence for a while now.
Number One noble representative of Vava’u Lord Tu’ilakepa asks for the reason why PM is not present in Parliament for quite a while and this is a crucial time for the Government to elaborate on the proposed budget for the new fiscal year 2019/2020.
Lord Tu’ilakepa proposes if the PM is not well then he should resign and allow the Deputy Prime Minister to continue in the leadership role.
BUT MEIDECC Minister Poasi Tei says the PM is on medical leave and despite he is not present in Parliament for the deliberations on the proposed budget, but he fully supports it.
Lord Tu’ilakepa continues and says he’s concerned about the medical expenses for the Prime Minister’s Health as it is funded by the people’s tax.
But Revenue Minister Hon. Mateni Tapueluelu told MPs that the Government was ready to allocate funds for the PM’s medical trip to New Zealand but was later informed that he is personally funding his trip and expenses required.
Speaker Lord Fakafanua informed the MPs the PM is on leave since the 25th until the 2nd of next month as he will travel to New Zealand for medical reasons.
