Miss Heilala first judging event kick starts today – with the pre-pageant interviews

The first judging event for this year’s Miss Heilala pageant was held at the Fa’onelua Convention Centre this morning – which was the pre-pageant interviews, where each of the 25 contestants made a 3-minute presentation on various topics about Tonga.

The interview topics were chosen by the 25 contestants during last week’s orientation program.

Miss Tuitui Fashion – Soana Falahola ‘Aleva started off the competition with a presentation on Environment, Miss Fe’unu Koulaa – Fe’ofa’aki Laulaa on Transportation, Miss Alovili Home Australia – Melefifita ‘Alovili on Media, Miss Salome Accounting Services – Manutu’ufanga Lavemai on Health, Miss ‘Eua Tourism – ‘Emeline Louena Napa’a on Preserving our Culture , Miss Tonga Tourism – Denise Vaiolima Hafoka on Tourism, Miss Cruise Ships – Sia Tu’ipulotu on Cruise Ship, Miss Ha’apai Tourism – Mele Malafu on Tonga Masani, Miss Terra Pacific Australia – Nunia Petelo on Fitness Awareness, Miss Langakali ‘o e Vai ko Puna – Peti Na’a Iotamo on Language, Miss Makafeke Resort – Arden Fatai on Technology, Miss S & S Trading USA – Yehenara Soukoup on Unemployment, Miss Appraxus – LJ Hooker Real Estate – Catherine Hansen on History, Miss Appraxus Nasita Production – Lolohea Li’ekina on Education, Miss Vava’u Tourism – ‘Asinate Tupou on Youth Leadership, Miss Appraxus Radio Waves of the Pacific – Tangi ‘a Tonga Latu on Women in Parliament, Miss Makahokovalu – Seletute Kinikini on Climate Change, Miss Appraxus Ngutulei Bar & Restaurant – Kieoma Lavulo on Development of Sports, Miss Bou Fashion – Kilisitina Veilofia on Economy, Miss Bou Sports – Lesieli Kafa on Communication, Miss Tonga Australia – ‘Ana Ma’ilei on Renewable Energy, Miss Appraxus NZ – Jeanavieve Pome’e on Drugs Awareness, Miss Infrastructure – ‘Otile ‘Ikani on Gender Equality, Miss Tyre Runner Express Australia – Fina-lolani Liu on Sustainable Tourism, and Miss Lady Maria Tonga Australia – Theresa Mafile’o on Agriculture.

The top 5 in the competition were also announced today which includes – Miss Makahokovalu – Seletute Kinikini, Miss Tonga Australia – Anna Ma’ilei, Miss Apraxus Ngutulei Bar & Restaurant – Kieoma Lavulo, Miss Salome Accounting Services – Manutu’ufanga Lavemai and Miss Appraxus NZ – Jeanavieve Pome’e.

The competition will continue with the tau’olunga competition tomorrow at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall.
