Police arrest more than 50 during Operation Royal

Police have arrested and charged more than 50 people for alleged drunk driving, disorderly behaviour and drinking in public places during their Royal Operation – that’s currently underway.

Acting Superintendent of the Nuku’alofa Police Station – Tevita Vailea says, the Royal operation started last week with more than 100 police officers on duty.

The purpose of the operation according to Vailea is to ensure the safety of the people during this festive season, especially with the Heilala Week that’s currently underway.
