Police investigate school brawls in town last Friday

Tonga Police is strongly urging parents to step up and ensure their children are at school during school hours and they return home safely, to avoid brawls in the Nuku’alofa area.

Acting Superintendent of the Nuku’alofa Police Station Tevita Vailea says, many students were in town last Friday afternoon and prompted clashes between students and former students of two secondary schools.

He adds they’ve received a report, that some had sustained injuries as a result from the brawl.

This week Tonga Police will continue their awareness program to the secondary schools to remind students the significance of education and the consequences of involving on criminal activities such as drugs and school brawls.
