Tonga to have its first flying school soon

Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 01/08/2019

Palu Aviation is still competing requirements to establish Tonga’s first flying school.

CEO Tevita Palu says, the aircraft for the school arrived last night and they are working closely with the Ministry of Education for the registration process and the courses.

Palu is confident that the initiative will be a success as they have the full support from Civil Aviation of New Zealand.

“It wont be long from now when we complete what’s needed to be done. At the moment were looking at recruiting pilots for the course and we’re hoping to start with least 15-20 pilots,” he says.

About four (4) students are already in Tonga to take the new course and it is expected to commence by the end of the month.

The estimate cost for the initiative is more than 300 thousand pa’anga.
