Lord Fusitu’a transferred to New Zealand on medical grounds

New Zealand’s air ambulance was in Tonga on Sunday 4th of August to transfer Lord Fusitu’a on medical grounds. Speaking to Radio Tonga News this morning, Police Minister Hon. Mateni Tapueluelu says, he received an urgent request from the hospital to allow the ambulance to arrive in Tonga yesterday as Lord Fusitu’a needed medical treatment abroad.
Police Minister did not provide any further details regarding the issue but Lord Fustu’a was at Vaiola Hospital last week.
Meanwhile, PM ‘Akilisi Pohiva was also at Vaiola hospital last week. Police Minister Mateni Tapueluelu says he’s recovering well and should be discharged soon. Pohiva underwent medical treatment in Auckland earlier this year. Prime Minister is preparing to lead Tonga’s delegation to the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum in Tuvalu next week.
