The Pacific Water and Wastewater conference that is currently held at Vanuatu highlights the importance of managing and protecting water resources for the future
In the conference, issues discussed include the challenges that Pacific Islands are facing in ensuring the water we use is clean and hygienic.
The Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Water and Wasterwater – Pitolau Lusia Sefo Leau says water is vital for humankind.
Some of the discussions also raised how modern information and communications technologies have provided today’s societies with an array of innovative capabilities to solve challenges related to resource efficiency, urbanization and population growth, climate change and sustainable development.
Leau believes that harnessing these technologies within the water sector creates more intelligent means for managing and protecting our region’s water resources and lays foundation for a “water smart” Pacific.
