NEMO receives new equipment thanks to the Government of Japan

The National Emergency Management Office yesterday received a donation from the Japanese government – to assist with their operations.
This donation included equipment such as generators and tents among others which was worth a total 1.24 million pa’anga. The minister of MEIDECC – Poasi Tei accepted the donation in a special handover ceremony yesterday at the NEMO warehouse in Vaololoa.
In his address the Japanese Ambassador H.E Tetsuya Ishii said this assistance is part of Japans efforts in strengthening capability and resilience against natural disasters and this assistance can help the NEMO operations in times of disasters.
