Tonga looking to expand tourism sector with China

A delegation from the China Tourism Academy of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the people’s republic of China’s currently in Nuku’alofa on a 3-day official visit.
The purpose of their visit is to further development of Tourism between Tonga and China, as well as seeking opportunities for Tonga to become a tourism market for Chinese visitors as well as to foster a fruitful business relationship between the two countries.
The delegation visited Tonga on the 13th and will depart Tonga today.
While in Nuku’alofa, the delegation headed by Mr. Dai Bin the President and professor of the academy met the Acting Prime Minister – Hon. Semisi Sika, CEO of the Ministry of Toursim as well as various representatives from the Tourism industry here in Tonga.
This visit was organized and facilitated by Mr Zhining the Tourism and Trade Commissioner, Embassy of Peoples Republic of China and the Ministry of Tourism, Tonga.
The delegation will continue on to Fiji where they are expected to meet with the Chief Executive Officer of the South Pacific Tourism Organization and then round off their Pacific visit with Vanuatu before returning to PRC.
