A retired chief inspector of the Ministry of Police highlights the importance of working collaboratively in order to achieve their goals.

This morning, Tonga Police Women Association marked the beginning of their 9th annual conference with the theme: “In shaping our future, we do it once and we do it right.”

Attending as the guest of honor was retired chief inspector and pioneer of 1970 – Mele Halapua who urged and encouraged the participants – that in order for them to shape the future, they must ensure that they do their service to the public wholeheartedly.

Meanwhile, chairwoman of Tonga Police Women Advisory Network – Sokopeti Faletau says, their influence in the ministry has contributed so much to the betterment of their service to the public as they add value and strength to the ministry.

Part of the two-day conference includes discussion on women issues in preparation for the 50th year celebration of the women police association next year.

Also attending the program was the Police Commissioner – Stephen Caldwell who presented certificates of long-service to Melenaite Kaufusi and Mele Manuofetoa who are now retired.

The program will end tomorrow.
