Radio & TV Tonga, Nuku’alofa, 24/09/2019
Despite a drop in the number of students attending the Australia’s NRL branch in Tonga’s Holiday program – the NRL staff were still enthusiastic in emphasizing the importance of exercising for good health.
Kiko Penitani from NRL Tonga says, although there were less students this holiday time, they were still eager to teach the participating students on good health and encouraging them to live a healthy and active life.
Meanwhile, 6-year-old Sulifa Mapili, 9-year-old ‘Elitai Tonga and 10-year-old Tevita ‘Ilangana expressed how happy they are to be a part of this program as they are making use of their school break on ways to keep them active and healthy before school starts.
In today’s program NRL staff also encouraged healthy eating, where they provided healthy snacks for the children following the program.
This isn’t the first time NRL have held a holiday’s program but they are hopeful that in the future it will continue to grow, as they understand upcoming exam preparations may be the reason some of the children were unable to attend today.
